Scruff the Pooch loved to walk
Over fields and cliffs and sand
With Daddy and Grandad she’d go to the beach
The happiest pooch in the land
…
The Pooch Who Went To The Seaside tells the tale of fond memories I have of the walks I made over the cliff tops and by the sea near The Mumbles in South Wales, accompanied by Zara and my father in law.
Scruff loves the beach and is desperate to go for a walk, so grabs her lead and woofs “let’s go, let’s go”. The delightful tale tells of birds swooping overhead, other walkers saying a cheery hello as they pass and the delight of sitting on a bench, over looking the sea, as a seal pops up and waves.
Scruff is used to these walks and gets excited at the prospect of an ice cream when they get to the end of the path, which she wolfs down, as only dogs can, before Grandad, Daddy & Scruff head of home for tea.
